Frequently Asked Questions.
Answers to common questions about Downlify's media downloading platform.
What platforms does Downlify support?
Downlify currently supports downloading media from YouTube (videos, Shorts, live streams), Instagram (posts, Reels, Stories), Twitter / X (videos, GIFs), and select other social networks.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. Downlify is a completely registration-free service. There are no accounts to create, no passwords to remember, and no sign-ups required to fetch or download media.
How does Downlify protect my privacy?
We do not track you. We do not set persistent advertising cookies, and we don't log the URLs you search or download. Any media processed is stored in a temporary folder on our server and is permanently deleted shortly after your download finishes.
Why do some YouTube or Instagram downloads fail?
Platforms regularly update their anti-scraping and rate-limiting measures. If a download fails, it is usually because the platform blocked the request or requires updated cookies. If issues persist, please drop us a line via our contact page.
Is there a file size or download limit?
There are no artificial file size limits on Downlify. However, very long videos (such as multi-hour streams or high-definition 4K content) can take longer to process on our backend servers and may occasionally timeout during connection drops.
Is Downlify open-source?
Yes. The project is built on open-source libraries and standard web tech. We keep the core system accessible so that developers can inspect how we handle downloads and ensure transparency.
